What happened in the world of tabletop over the last week?

Author of the well known Masks of Nyarlathotep, and contributor to Chaosium Inc, Larry DiTillo passed away this week. DiTillo also worked on a number of television programs, such as Beast Wars and Babylon 5, as well as being responsible for much of the fiction behind He-Man.

Kickstarter continues to be a popular platform for tabletop creators, but is it delivering all that it could? Designer of Feudum, Mark Swanson, explores the pros and cons of Kickstarter at Tabletopias bequest.

Scrutiny of the tabletop community is at an all time high. Angelus Morningstar looks at toxic masculinity in gaming, but exploring his own behaviour.

Wingspan has been a success for Stonemaier Games, on a number of levels. Jamey Stegmaier used the games popularity to discuss diversity in tabletop.

An escape room inspired augmented reality experience set inside a life size version of Monopoly? Yeah, sure, I guess.

Critical Core

Roleplay is for everyone, but not every roleplay system can accommodate all people. Critical Core hopes to help in that regard by providing a tabletop game experience designed for kids on the autism spectrum. It helps players build social skill and confidence while diving into fantasy worlds.

Critical Core is being run by Game to Grow, and is for 2-4 players. It has a goal of AUD$67,561 and has so far raised over AUD$133,700 from 1,169 backers with 33 days to go.
