This past week on the tabletop

28/05/2018 – 02/06/2018

What happened in the world of tabletop over the last week?

The evolution of a beast. The team at Beasts of War reveal how their plans for an update have grown into a whole new approach.

This is directed more at the digital side, but knowing is half the battle. Saf Davidson discusses emergent narrative at Play by Play.

Not every game is memorable. The BBC explored what a folded game maker did with some of its titles, both well known and less famous creations.

No matter what kind of games you like playing, casual or competitive, no one likes a cheater. Chapter Tactics this week talked a little about the subject of cheating in wargames.

ACUTE PARANOIA: A box full of treason and summary executions

This past week on the tabletop

Paranoia is a darkly humorous roleplaying game full of mutants, secret societies, backstabbing, lasers, repeated death and a well-meaning but thoroughly insane ruler known as the Computer. Unlike other RPGs that take themselves rather seriously, Paranoia is all about having fun in a science fiction dystopia by encouraging skullduggery, betrayal, bootlicking and generally naughty behaviours.

Acute Paranoia is a complete expansion box set for the Paranoia roleplaying game, including more treason, rules, cards and summary executions. It has currently met and exceeded its pledge goal of AUD$35,280 with 20 days still to go. The campaign is being run by Matthew Sprange, who has successfully funded five Kickstarters in the past.
