This past week on the tabletop

18/03/2018 – 24/03/2018

What happened in the world of tabletop over the last week?

Freeplay announce their festival theme, Intersections. While primarily digital focussed, this seems like a great opportunity for them to explore other mediums like tabletop.

Can digital and tabletop exist as one? VentureBeat contributor Dean Takahashi took a look at one company’s product that may do just that.

Are you experienced, in Monopoly? Apparently Jimi Hendrix was.

Maps are a roleplay staple. Co-creator of Pathfinder, James Sutter, took a tounge-in-cheek look at the real-world map of New Orleans.

Who doesn’t want to quit their job and just work on tabletop games? CNBC ran an article on Travis and Holly Hancock, the owners of Facade Games.

Featured crowdfunding game

MourneQuest

The evil Shimnavore must be defeated! Players collect charms, equipment and relics to increase their power as they journey to the Mourne Mountains. However enemies, like Bogbeans and Banshees, stand in their way, and players must rely on their skills and combat abilities to overcome them.

MourneQuest is for 2-4 players, and is based on the MorneQuest teen novel series by Garry McElherron. The game will be published by Backspindle Games, who are also running the Kickstarter. It has an AUD$50,668 goal and has currently raised more than AUD$41,000 with 18 days to go.

This is Backspindle Games first Kickstarter, but they have previously published such titles as Luchador! and Clacks.
