Heroes of STEAM: Using Comics and Gaming to Inspire Learning

What if students were given an incentive that wasn’t just learning for learning’s sake? That’s what Heroes of STEAM looks to address. Students choose any topic to research, and from their notes and rough drafts, create their very own superheroes. Then in tournament fashion, their superhero characters square off in mock combat with one another, using a game system that’s even easier than the card games they play.

Heroes of STEAM has a goal of AUD$710 and has so far raised over AUD$240 with 27 days to go. The game and campaign is created by Jim McClain, and is his fourth Kickstarter. Previous he has successfully funded a series of educational comics.
