This past week on the tabletop

18/12/2016 – 24/12/2016

What happened in the world of tabletop over the last week?

You may have heard of this little-known crowdfunding platform called Kickstarter. In case you haven’t, Geek & Sundry have looked at three games which the platform has spawned.

Browd-sord! Next year Boris Simiano will be bringing some HeroQuest hero-inspired miniatures to Kickstarter. Beasts of War provided a rundown of the announcement.

For those running roleplay games, creating an engaging ongoing story can be difficult. The Good Friends of Jackson Elias have provided an interesting series of podcasts which address campaign beginnings, middles and ends.

Chief Creative Officer of Privateer Press, Matthew Wilson, discusses the problems with the recent Warmachine and Hordes update. It is nice to see a company honestly talking about the missteps they took, and how they intend to rectify them.

You can enter into the World of Darkness Scenario Competition 2017 right now. Pitches are to be submitted before 6 January, with finished scenarios to be supplied by 23 April.

Some of the new Kickstarters from this week:

This is not an endorsement of any of these games, creators or Kickstarter campaigns.
