The Kickstarter for Exploding Kittens is only a few days old, and already it has pulled over USD$3 million. And the count is rapidly climbing.
Exploding Kittens is a card game by Elan Lee (XBOX), Matthew Inman (The Oatmeal), and Shane Small (XBOX, Marvel). Players draw cards until they draw a kitten, at which point they lose. All the other cards can be used to defend, attack, skip your turn, or defuse the kitten using various action cards. It sounds like a simple mechanic, but obviously there is something about this game that has attracted not only the usual tabletop card players, but scores of regular people too.
